Doctor Arvind Karad 32 years of age married to Engineer, dealing with COIVD-19 patients has got everything to worry about – life, health, family and bright career, but he ignored everything to serve patients, even upsetting his wife. Like any other doctor, he too chose to do something that he wants to be proud of it. When whole India was griped under the panic of lock-down, but Dr Arvind unlock his inner potential – got busy finding himself by serving others. He selflessly and with positive stride took nasal swabs of infected patients, protected them from more infections, treated them, gave tips on how to save others and even counseled them with positive messages to look forward to the better part of the life. He uplifted the theme of his noble profession. How many of us can willingly put themselves at risk to serve others? In spite of he living alone away from his wife, and again, in spite of so many request from his family members to stay away from patients he didn’t budge. For him, it was all different, as situation got more challenging he also lifted his commitment. With smile on his face, happy and gracefully started looking after isolation ward in YCM Hospital in Pune, taking care of covid-19 patients. This isolation ward of Pune is the toughest and dedicated ward to deal with and he took the rare opportunity with both hands and without worrying too much about his own safety. Dr. Arvind in his simple gesture said, “Not many times in life you get chance to do great things, and I knew this was the right opportunity for me.”Pune sits at the center of outbreak of corona panic in Maharashtra. The sudden outbreak of pandemic of covid-19 did not gave Dr. Arvind and his team at YCM hospital much chance to prepare for it. Because what he’ll be witnessing in coming days is the horror that no one has seen in the known history. The huge influx of super scared patients –dealing with the issues of life and death was something that he never watched so closely. It was already crisis situation and they have to do everything to stand as a shield between life and death by protecting people around them. Panic waves were mounting everywhere, rumors with no substance were everywhere, people don’t know what Corona virus is and the worst part was that people didn’t know that they are dealing with a big demon.Just like other doctors, Dr. Arvind was also given induction on how to deal with covid-19 patients. And he thought that would be enough. But he had best part of his learning while dealing with actual patients. It was a sense of pride and Honor for Arvind to protect the life and protect approximately 40 lakh people in Pune. And he thought he could do an instrumental role in cutting the change of the sudden outbreak of this highly infectious and deadly disease.Let’s take a moment to imagine the life that Dr. Arvind is living – till now he has taken samples of approximately 30 patients and dealt with around 50 infected patients. It is said, if one infected person couldn’t be quarantined and isolated, that person can easily infect thousands of people without social distancing. When 40 lakh people in Pune are happy and health, remained out of infection, it was not coincidence and also it was not by chance. It was because of accurate diagnosis, proven methods and strong sense of social distancing that Dr. Arvind performed under able guidance of Dr. Rajendra Wabale, Dean PG Medical Inst at YCM along with whole team at Yashwant Chavan Memorial Hopsital (YCM) executed their war on CORONA from day one and gave constant motivation in the background. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Arvind Karad of YCM Pune Hospital as Real Life Hero who set right example of selflessly serving and caring the needy, who did everything to protect the health and life of thousands of people.
