What do you do when your resources are narrow and the future looks bleak? Make the most out of what little you have, says Mr. Pravin Bhoyar. He is here to motivate us with his enlightening journey to success.
Mr. Pravin comes from an extremely humble background. He spent his childhood in a small village situated in present-day Telangana. This village had a total of twelve houses.
During monsoon, the village used to get surrounded by water, with no accessibility to roads and the mainland. “It was like living on an island, we were not able to go anywhere”, says Mr. Pravin.
Such a situation resulted in a deficiency of nutrition in the children of the village. “I was a malnourished child for most of my childhood, as we did not get the right amount of food”.
Living in a village with such minimum facilities was not easy. It hindered development at various levels. There was no school in his village. His father was a Zilla Parishad teacher in a small school in Mangali, Maharashtra, which was more than 5.5 kilometers away from his native village. For the first five years of his life, he had received no education whatsoever. After that, his father began taking him to the school he worked in. “For a basic necessity like education, I had to travel over 10 kilometers daily as a six-year-old child”.
He even had to cross a river to reach school. Moreover, he could study only for a part of the year as rains would cut off their village completely. Mr. Pravin studied in this school till the 4th standard. His father was advised to change his school as he was not getting any kind of exposure there. Development was very limited in such a school for a bright child.
Despite these hardships, Mr. Pravin completed his education. A turning point came in his life when he got married. “My wife is no less than a goddess in my life, she has protected me through all my hardships.” He says that it was because of his wife’s help he could regulate his life, develop productive habits, and focus all his energy to gain personal and professional success. He further adds, “She never said anything nor objected but her transformation presence made all the positive difference.”
His career also took on a new path shortly after marriage. He decided to join the academic field at 27 years of age and secured a job at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS). He competed with 30 to 35 senior researchers for the position of full-time faculty member. “Getting married and acquiring a job at SIMS are two events in my life that I will never forget.”
“I want to be a joyful person in every moment of my life”. Today, Mr. Pravin’s goal as a successful academist is to be happy and satisfied. He believes that this will only happen when he immerses himself in his work as well as takes out equal time for his family.
He is currently the Deputy Director at SIMS Pune. His inspiring story shows how high-spirited he is as a human being and his positive outlook toward life.
“Hard work never fails, it only pushes you to do better and better in life”. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Pravin Bhoyar to the Real Life Heroes club for his commitment to having Success with Happiness!
