You don’t have to move mountains to bring delight to your customers – a small but genuine gesture of care is enough!
What was going to be a routine flight experience for me but turned out to be a memorable experience by Miss Binita Dey and Miss Rebeca Waghchoure the staff at Indigo Airline.
On my flight from Indore to Chennai, I witnessed an outstanding example of “customer genuine care” that is sure to stay with me for a long time. More importantly, it was not just about giving excellent service but altogether redefining the next level of service offerings.
It is amazing to see how care goes a long way. No wonder, Indigo Airlines knows how to develop that connection with its customer and that’s exactly what makes it India’s favorite airline.
I was sleep deprived and fasting for 30 hrs with a long day of a hectic schedule. All I was looking is to take a good nap and of course, break my fast with a pre-booked meal of my choice, but that was my plan – not sure how much you know about life, not all your plans come to work!
Because of some communication gap, my request for a particular diet was not available. Now that means I will be starving for at least 3 more hours till the flight lands at Chennai. I slowly but surely accepted my fate. Though I accepted but the frustration was visible on my face ! I’ve given up.
But Binita Dey and Rebeca Waghchoure were not giving up so soon.
They looked for all possible permutations and combinations but were all going in vain. I was feeling bad for causing them this trouble but they were more concerned about not being able to serve.
They both left saying, “Give us some time, let us find something.”
Honestly, that was it for me. But not for them. To my great surprise, in a few minutes, both of them appeared with a big simile on their faces they could somehow arrange food items perfectly matching my dieting requirement. That too while serving other passengers and without getting disturbed. They showed that they are masters of their craft and were all doing it carrying smiles.
But I also witness a great sense of pleasure and achievement in them. The positive pride and honor they got in serving me cannot be explained but can only be felt, deeply.
I can only imagine how we too can create countless occasions to bring smiles to our customers’ faces. Thank you Indigo and its team for reigniting in me the spark to take my own service level to the next level.
